Northfield Reads this year is partnering with the City of Northfield to encourage people to think about the issue of climate change and how we, as individuals and as a community, can reduce our negative impact on the environment.
We will be hosting three events this year, looking at climate change through readings and discussions. The first event will focus on understanding climate and change through fiction. The second will consider non-fiction readings. The third will have readings that help us think about our individual and community actions and ways that we can modify our behavior for the benefit of the climate.
Our first event will take place in November. People are invited to read the book Flight Behavior, by Barbara Kingsolver. We will discuss this book and also offer overviews of a few other fiction pieces that address the subject.
The specific details, as to dates, locations, and additional readings, are yet to be announced.
